What this calculator assumes
How the subsidy slabs work
Central financial assistance is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW, capped at ₹78,000 for systems of 3 kW and above. The slab applies to the sanctioned capacity, not to your project cost, so a larger system does not increase the subsidy beyond the cap.
Who is eligible
Eligibility is limited to residential consumers with a valid electricity connection and rights over the roof, applying through the national PM Surya Ghar portal with an empanelled vendor. Group housing societies have separate provisions for common facilities. Commercial and industrial consumers are not covered by this residential scheme.
What the subsidy does not cover
Structure elevation, long cable runs, civil work, load enhancement charges and meter costs are outside the subsidy slab. We flag these separately during assessment so your net investment figure stays realistic.
How the amount reaches you
After installation, inspection and net meter commissioning, the subsidy is credited directly to your bank account by the government through the portal. Timelines depend on the portal and your DISCOM.
